Del - Both Sides of the Brain
Back in the day when I took hip hop way too seriously, I managed to overlook this absolute gem of an album. It’s hilarious, goofy and lighthearted. This is del the funky homosapien at his best.

Uterus Water
Did anyone notice that mum’s last two albums have been shit? I just learned that lead singer Kria Brekken had broken away from the band many years ago and started a solo project, but still continued appearing on Mum’s album. Now that I know this, it’s pretty easy to see what an influence Kria had on Mum’s early work. Kria Brekken’s solo stuff has everything that I...
Goodbye 2009, Hello 2010!
What better way to return from a 2 month tumblr hiatus than to post my list of this years top releases! I really have not had as much time to dedicate towards music lately, and for this I apologize, nonetheless here is a list of albums that I full heartedly recommend.

Atlas Sound - Logos
Do not judge this album by it’s cover, this is the best atlas sound solo effort to date. Of course if you are a fan and follow his blog, then there is a good chance you’ve already heard a lot of these songs from previous leaks, but everything has been remastered here and expertly arranged.

Thank You, Chicago, Good Bye
New mix from headphone commute… I haven’t listened to it yet, but the tracklist looks mighty tasty. Definitely recommended if you enjoyed the Bill Compton mix from earlier last month.
Track Listing:
Beefcake – 01 & 02 [Drei, Thrill Beat Construction] Hecq vs. Ginormous – Dayout [0000, Hymen] Lusine – Abaft [Travel Sickness, Hymen] Gridlock – Displacement [Formless, Hymen] ...

Back to the Basics
Some things age well with time. Cheese, wine, good whiskey. Add one more to that list, Busta Rhymes - Extinction Level Event. I remember when this album came out I was 15. It was the most obnoxious thing I had ever heard, but now 10 years later, it is the most righteous album in my whole music library. Lately I have been revisiting some of these early 90’s hip hop classics, and they...
Bill Compton Mix
Bill Compton is a dark and mysterious character. He has been dead for more than 200 years. When the sun rises, he goes to sleep under a floorboard in his old 17th century house. His movements are cold, calculated and precise, his thoughts are filled with logic and intelligence but he lacks emotion. The only time he shows any sign of life is when he is with human girlfriend, Sookie...

Sleep - Hesitation Wounds
This is probably my favorite hip-hop release in the last year. One of the best acts to come out of the Portland/Seattle hip-hop scene. Check it out or catch a show if you live in Portland, you won’t be dissapointed.
Ruxpin - Where Do We Float From Here
One of the most under rated producers in modern IDM music. This new album is his best, check it out.

Lucky You
A bunch of extremely good mixes. dubstep, electronic, idm. I haven’t heard them all yet, but I’m really digging Claude Speed’s mix and the Jamie Vex’d mix.

Dubstep: New Generation, Same Shit
In the last few years, dubstep has seen a rise in popularity, from it’s reputation as some novelty, bastard child of garage, to what many are now proclaiming to be the future of electronic music. And while there is no doubt that there are some incredible artists producing dubstep at the moment (ie; Burial, Boxcutter), the newest wave of producers have disappointed. They seem to be carbon copies of...
